What it is genuinely good at
Agency economics. Teamwork.com is the only one of these two vendors whose published tiers describe the path from work delivered to money received. Accelerate builds client invoices from logged time and manages time budgets and retainers. Optimize adds creating quotes, turning a CRM pipeline into projects, financial and multi-currency budgets, and revenue, cost and profitability insights. That is the shape an agency actually needs, and it is unusual to see it stated plainly on a pricing page.
Its project views are also solid from the bottom: task, list, board, Gantt and table views on projects are available on the free plan, with unlimited templates on Basics.
Verified current pricing, and where we stopped
Free with up to 5 projects. Basics at $9.99 per user per month billed yearly, with a 14-day free trial and no credit card required. Accelerate at $24.99 per user per month billed yearly. Optimize and Enterprise are both sold through a conversation, so we publish no figure for them. Annual billing saves 29%. The TeamworkAI inclusion is published as introductory with usage-based credits to launch later, and no price is stated for those credits, so we state none.
We stopped at the yearly-billed figures because those are what Teamwork.com publishes in the page we read. Its monthly-billing prices were not present in that page, and a method note worth knowing: the currency symbol you see on that page is a loading placeholder in the static page, and the underlying data carries US dollar values. We publish no INR figure, and no INR equivalence is asserted anywhere on this page.
Real limitations
The price. Accelerate at $24.99 per user per month billed yearly is roughly double ClickUp’s mid tier, and for a fifteen-person agency that difference is not a rounding error. Multiply it by the number of people who need a seat rather than by the number of directors.
The second limitation is region, and it is the one we would flag hardest for an Indian agency. Teamwork.com publishes US and EU data hosting, and its security page confirms the servers are within the US and the EU. No Asia region is published, so a client with a data-residency requirement is not served by the published architecture. The third is that the upper two tiers are quote-only, so the capabilities an agency most wants, quotes and profitability, sit behind a sales conversation.
Who should skip Teamwork.com
Skip it if seat count is the dominant cost and the agency is large, because the per-user figure is the highest of the two. Skip it if a client requires data held in Asia. And skip it if you only need project tracking and tasks, because you would be paying an agency-economics price for a coordination job.
Best when Teamwork.com is the right choice
Teamwork.com is the right buy when the agency bills by time or on retainer, when the team is small enough that the per-user figure is affordable, and when profitability by project is a question the owner expects to answer without asking an accountant. It is also right when multi-currency budgets matter because clients pay in more than one currency.
When Teamwork.com is the wrong choice
It is the wrong choice when the seat count is large enough for the per-user price to dominate, when the agency is a large one already standardised on a broader platform, or when data residency in Asia is a client requirement. It is also the wrong choice if you need GST-compliant invoicing, because neither the quoting nor the invoicing on that page is described as Indian tax compliant and neither is UPI collection.
