Scope change cost calculator
Work out what a scope change is likely to cost before you quote it — the extra hours or cost, the contingency, the new value, and what the change does to the project’s gross margin.
- Original quoted value
- ₹4,50,000
- Additional cost
- ₹24,000 40h
- Contingency
- ₹2,400
- New quote value for the change
- ₹26,400
- Change as a share of the original
- 5.87%
- Original gross margin
- 73.33%
- Revised gross margin
- 69.27%
- Price the change at to hold the original margin
- ₹99,000
How this is calculated: additional cost = hours × hourly rate (or the direct cost entered), the new quote value = additional cost × (1 + contingency), the revised project value = original quoted value + that new quote value, and the change as a share of the original is the new quote value divided by the original. Gross margin is (revenue − cost) ÷ revenue, recalculated with the change cost added to the original delivery cost. Every input is the reader’s own assumption, so this is a planning model for pricing the change, not a measured benchmark.
In NoxOrigin a scope change is handled by raising a new quote against the same project, not by editing the original quote. The original stays as the record of what was agreed and the new quote carries the change, so the change is visible as its own line in project profitability instead of quietly rewriting the deal.
Need the change priced against the live project?
In NoxOrigin a scope change is a new quote raised against the same project — the original quote stays as the record of what was agreed, and project profitability then shows the original margin next to the revised one.
