Per-seat pricing versus a fixed plan

NoxOrigin vs monday.com: paying per person, or paying once for the team

These two products charge you in fundamentally different ways, and that difference shows up on the invoice long before any feature comparison matters. monday.com charges per seat, and its free tier stops at two people. NoxOrigin charges a fixed plan price that includes a published number of users. This page works through what that actually costs, in the currency each vendor publishes.

NoxOrigin makes one of the products compared in this article. We describe NoxOrigin from our own shipped product and published INR pricing. We describe monday.com only from its public pricing page, which we read on 4 October 2026, including the structured price data on that page. We have not run a monday.com trial, so we make no claims about how it feels to use, and we quote no review scores for either product. monday.com publishes in US dollars. We do not convert, so no INR equivalence is asserted on this page.

Evidence and method

What we tested, and what we only read

What we tested

NoxOrigin only. We use it daily: the INR plan list, the published user, project, workspace and contact limits, the add-on rates, GST invoicing, UPI capture, permissions, and the reports that read quoted, billed, and collected value per client. NoxOrigin is a young product with a small number of live deployments, and we say so where it affects the decision.

What we source-verified

monday.com. We read its pricing page on 4 October 2026, which publishes the plan tables, a detailed feature comparison, and a pricing FAQ. We did not trial monday, we did not verify its support responsiveness, and we make no claim about its reliability beyond what it publishes about its own Enterprise tier.

The pricing models

How each vendor charges, before any feature talk

This is the dimension most comparison pages skip, and for these two products it is the one that decides the invoice.

What each product actually covers

monday.com is a work management platform with genuine depth in boards, views, and automations. NoxOrigin is a commercial operating record. Rows below differ because the products have different jobs.

Work management depthProjects, tasks, task lists, assignments, due dates, and recurring follow-ups, scoped to work attached to a client and opportunity.A dedicated work management product. Published features include unlimited items, timeline and Gantt, calendar, advanced board views, advanced columns, time tracking on Pro, portfolio management and resource management on Enterprise, and private boards on Pro.
Automations and integrationsNoxOrigin has no automation rule engine and no run history: nothing is triggered, conditioned, or acted on, and nothing fires on a schedule. The integrations that do exist connect NoxOrigin to your own systems, and what these plans put in one record is the client chain — CRM, projects, quotes, GST invoices, payments, and Commerce. monday’s published action counts are the advantage on this row, and we will not pretend otherwise.250 actions per month on Standard, 25,000 on Pro, and 250,000 on Enterprise, counted separately for automations and for integrations.
CRM and lead ownershipCompanies, contacts, leads, opportunities, owner, sales process, stage, dated next action, lost reason, and a shared Inbox.A separate monday CRM product with its own seat pricing: Basic $12 annually, Standard $17, Pro $28, and Ultimate on a custom quote.
QuotingQuotes with line items and tax treatment against the client and project, converted into an invoice without re-keying.Not described in the work management plan features we read. Verify quoting for the product you intend to buy.
GST invoicing and Indian statutory complianceGST invoices with automatic CGST and SGST splits for intra-state sales and IGST for inter-state, B2B invoices with GSTIN fields, and GST-wise tax reports. We do not claim statutory filing, e-invoicing, or e-way bills.Nothing on the pricing page describes GST, Indian tax splits, or Indian statutory compliance.
Payments and collectionsUPI capture with a transaction reference, payment reports by cash, UPI, card, and credit, payment promises, and receivables. Razorpay payment links from Growth upward. No Indian payment method is described. Confirm collection behaviour before you rely on it for an Indian customer base.
External and read-only usersRoles, workspace-scoped permissions, PIN access, approvals, and audit history. There is no separate free viewer tier and we do not publish one.Unlimited free viewers with read-only access and no editing rights on Basic, and guest access on Standard, where guests can only reach boards they are invited to.
APIPlatform area covers API and webhooks, with capability status shown publicly rather than marketed as a headline feature.1,000 API calls per day on Standard, 10,000 on Pro, and 25,000 on Enterprise, with the option to buy more.
Inventory and point of saleCommerce area: catalog, stock, warehouses, purchasing, promotions, POS billing, and day-end reconciliation, which currently sits at an assisted-setup maturity rather than a self-serve one.Not part of the work management plan features we read. A separate system is required.
Payment methods for an Indian buyerINR published on our own pricing page, with Razorpay payment links available from the Growth plan. Its FAQ lists major credit cards excluding debit cards, naming Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, Carte Bleue, and Union Pay, plus PayPal, and invoices for qualifying Enterprise orders. No UPI or Indian net banking appears in that list, and Union Pay is a card network rather than UPI.
Mobile and offlineWeb and Android access. We do not claim offline billing at a counter, and offline ticket scanning belongs to the scoped Nox-Tickets deployment rather than to these plans, so test your own connectivity assumptions before committing.iOS and Android apps are listed on the free plan. We did not verify offline behaviour and make no claim about it.
Security certificationsWe publish our own security page rather than making certification claims in comparison copy. Read it on our own site.Publishes adherence to ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27018 with annual security audits and assessments.
Support and maturityDirect support from the NoxOrigin team, with the dedicated NoxCRM, Nox-Billings, and Nox-Tickets deployments sold as scoped quotes rather than self-serve subscriptions. Live deployments are few.24/7 expert support, tailored onboarding, and a 99.9% uptime SLA are published as Enterprise features. We did not test support responsiveness and make no claim about it.
monday.com, in full

What monday.com is genuinely good at, and where it stops

What it is genuinely good at

Work management depth, and the pricing is transparent about it. monday publishes exactly what each tier adds: automations and integrations counted in monthly actions from 250 on Standard to 250,000 on Enterprise, timeline and Gantt, calendar, time tracking, advanced columns, portfolio and resource management, multi-level permissions, and an API allowance that scales from 1,000 to 25,000 calls per day. For a team whose actual problem is that work is invisible across projects, that is a serious product.

The commercial terms are unusually clearly published too, which deserves credit: an 18% yearly discount, one upfront installment, a 30-day partial refund window on yearly subscriptions, no refunds for downgrades, a separate free forever plan, a 14-day Pro trial, and nonprofit pricing. You will not have to ask a salesperson what the renewal costs.

Verified current pricing, and where we stopped

Work management: Free $0 free forever for up to 2 seats, Basic $9 per seat per month billed annually and $12 billed monthly, Standard $12 and $14, Pro $19 and $24, Enterprise at a custom price. monday CRM is a separate product with its own seat prices: Basic $12 annually and $15 monthly, Standard $17 and $20, Pro $28 and $33, Ultimate custom. monday Service is Standard $31 and $34, Pro $45 and $52. monday Dev is Basic $9 and $12, Standard $12 and $14.50, Pro $20 and $25.

We stopped at that. We do not convert any of it to rupees, so if you are budgeting in INR you will need to do that arithmetic yourself with the rate your billing entity actually gets, plus whatever GST applies on the invoice. We also note one internal tension rather than smoothing it over: the Free card says up to 2 seats while monday’s own FAQ says plans start from 3 users. If you are planning a rollout on the free tier, confirm which applies.

Real limitations

The two-seat ceiling on a product this good is the first limitation, and it catches almost every Indian small business. The second is prepayment: a yearly subscription is paid for the year in one installment, so the cash leaves the account before the work proves the subscription was right. The third is the payment method list, which excludes debit cards and names no Indian net banking or UPI option. For a business that pays vendors by UPI every month, that is a real operational difference.

And the structural one: nothing on the pricing page describes GST invoicing, Indian tax treatment, or Indian statutory compliance. monday is built to organise work, and for an Indian business the invoice and the payment are where the money actually is. If you add monday to a stack, you are adding another system to reconcile, not removing one.

Who should skip monday.com

Skip it if you are two people and boards are enough, because the free plan costs nothing. Skip it if the commercial chain is the problem, since invoicing and collection are not what it does. Skip it if your finance process runs on UPI or Indian net banking and you need the vendor invoice to work the same way. And skip it if the annual prepayment is a problem for your cash cycle, which is a legitimate reason and a common one.

Best when monday.com is the right choice

monday is the right buy when work visibility is the binding constraint: many projects, many boards, a team that needs Gantt and timeline and a serious automation allowance, and a client base that does not need Indian statutory invoicing from the same tool. It is also right when headcount is genuinely fluid, because you add and remove seats rather than carrying an allowance you sized for last year.

When monday.com is the wrong choice

It is the wrong choice when the same client appears in your pipeline, your project board, your quote, and your invoice and nobody can say which of those is current. It is also wrong when the two-seat free cap is the only thing keeping a five-person team on spreadsheets, because the moment you pay for monday you are also maintaining a second client record alongside whatever handles your money.

NoxOrigin, in full

What NoxOrigin is good at, and where it stops

What it is genuinely good at

One record for the commercial chain, sold as a plan rather than as seats. A three-person team and a one-person team pay the same INR 800 on Starter, which removes the awkward conversation where a fifth person joins and somebody has to decide whether they get a licence. Companies, contacts, leads, opportunities, projects, tasks, quotes, invoices, and payments all hang off the same client history.

For an Indian business that means GST invoices with the right split for an intra-state or inter-state sale, B2B invoices carrying a GSTIN, UPI capture with the transaction reference recorded, and payment reports split by cash, UPI, card, and credit. It also means workspace-scoped permissions, PIN-based staff access, manager approvals, and audit history, so a counter action has a person attached to it.

Verified current pricing

From our own published plan list: Starter INR 800 per month or INR 8,000 annually for 3 users, 1 workspace, 10 active projects, and 1,000 contacts; Growth INR 1,600 per month or INR 15,000 annually for 10 users, 1 workspace, 50 active projects, 10,000 contacts, Razorpay payment links, multiple sales processes, and a 30-day trial; Agency INR 5,000 per month or INR 48,000 annually for 25 users, 3 workspaces, 250 active projects, and 50,000 contacts. Add-ons are INR 500 per month for five more users and INR 750 per month for an additional workspace. These are platform plans. NoxCRM, Nox-Billings, and Nox-Tickets are scoped custom deployments sold on a quote, not self-serve subscriptions, so no plan price on this page applies to them.

Real limitations

The plan model has hard edges, and you should know them before you buy rather than after. Starter caps you at 3 users, 1 workspace, 10 active projects, and 1,000 contacts. Growth caps you at 10 users and 1 workspace, so a second branch means a step up in price or a paid workspace add-on. And there is no free viewer tier and no read-only external tier published, so a client who needs to look at something is a cost to work out deliberately.

On work management depth, monday is simply ahead of us and we will not dress that up: we do not have Gantt views, portfolio management, resource management, or an automation allowance in the tens of thousands of monthly actions. We are not a general ledger, we do not file statutory returns, and we do not claim e-invoicing or e-way bills. There is no change-request record, no milestone record, no deliverable record, no contract editor, and no e-signature. Day-end and reconciliation sit at an assisted-setup maturity, which means someone from our side helps configure that workflow. And NoxOrigin is young, with few live deployments, which is a fair reason for a larger buyer to choose elsewhere.

Who should skip NoxOrigin

Skip NoxOrigin if you are one or two people and boards would genuinely do the job, because paying INR 800 for a subset of a free plan is a bad decision. Skip it if work management is the actual problem and your team needs real project depth, views, and a large automation allowance. Skip it if you need a general ledger or statutory filing. And skip it if you are not prepared to buy from a young vendor with few live deployments.

Best when NoxOrigin fits

NoxOrigin fits when a predictable number of people need access to a connected commercial record, when billing in INR with GST and collecting by UPI is normal rather than exceptional, and when the frustration is copies of the same client name in four systems. It also fits a business that prefers a monthly published INR figure to a seat count that changes with headcount.

When NoxOrigin is the wrong choice

Choose monday.com instead when a large, growing team needs serious work management and only part of that team needs the commercial record, because paying for depth per person is then the cheaper shape. Choose it when the board is the product, when you want Gantt, timeline, portfolio, and resource views as first-class features, or when you have standardised on a large vendor with a published Enterprise governance tier and a named implementation path.

And choose the free monday plan when you are two people, full stop. We would rather lose the deal than talk you into an INR 800 subscription for a capability you already have at no cost. Read the same free-tier question against another work tool.

Who should choose which

Match the pricing model to the buyer situation

A three-person consultancy with stable headcount

Three named people, no plans to hire for a year. The seat model charges you three times; the plan model charges you once. NoxOrigin Starter at INR 800 per month covers three users, and the difference between the two approaches is the whole decision. See small-business plans.

A twelve-person agency where only four touch the commercial record

This is the case the seat model is built for. Four people need quoting, invoicing, and collection; the other eight need projects and tasks. Buy depth for the four and let the rest use whatever they already have, rather than sizing a plan allowance to the whole team.

A shop that needs both a board and a counter

Project visibility and counter billing are two different systems, and the honest answer is that you probably need both. The counter side is Commerce: catalog, stock, POS shifts, and day-end. Review multi-user counter software.

A business that pays and collects only by UPI

Confirm the vendor’s payment methods before you commit to a seat model, because the invoice has to be payable in a way your finance team can actually process. We publish INR and Razorpay payment links from the Growth plan; monday’s own list names no UPI or Indian net banking option.

A team on monday already, with an invoice problem on the side

The boards may be working fine. The question is whether adding a second system for money makes the reconciliation better or worse, and that is worth answering before you buy anything. Read the cost of running tools separately.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask us first

How much does monday.com cost per seat?

From monday's own published pricing data, the work management plans are Free at $0 with up to 2 seats, Basic at $9 per seat per month billed annually or $12 billed monthly, Standard at $12 annually or $14 monthly, Pro at $19 annually or $24 monthly, and Enterprise at a custom price. monday states that a yearly plan carries an 18% discount, that payment is made in one upfront installment, and that if you want more than 40 users you can request a quote. monday publishes in US dollars, so we do not assert an INR equivalent. Check vendor pricing for the figure on your invoice.

What is the difference between a seat model and a plan model?

A seat model charges for each named user, so the bill grows with the team: three people on monday Standard at $12 per seat per month billed annually is a different number from three people on monday Free, and from thirty people. A plan model charges one price for a published capacity, so a three-person team and a one-person team pay the same. NoxOrigin's Starter is INR 800 per month for three users, Growth is INR 1,600 for ten, and Agency is INR 5,000 for twenty-five across three workspaces, with an add-on of INR 500 per month for five more users.

Can I get monday.com free?

Yes, and we would be wrong to hide it. monday publishes a Free plan at $0, described on its pricing page as free forever for up to 2 seats, with up to 3 boards, up to 3 Docs, over 200 templates, 8 column types, and iOS and Android apps. If your whole business is two people working in boards, monday Free costs nothing and no paid plan from anyone beats that. Note the tension in monday's own page: the Free card says up to 2 seats while the FAQ says plans start from 3 users, so confirm which applies before you design a rollout around it.

Does monday.com accept UPI or Indian payment methods?

Not according to the payment methods its pricing FAQ lists. monday states it accepts major credit cards excluding debit cards, naming Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, Carte Bleue, and Union Pay, plus PayPal, and that it accepts invoices for Enterprise orders that meet a minimum fee. No Indian debit card, net banking, or UPI payment method appears in that list, and Union Pay is a card network rather than UPI. This is worth confirming directly with monday for your billing entity before you commit, and it is a real operational difference from a vendor that publishes INR and collects by UPI.

Does monday.com do GST invoicing for India?

Nothing on the monday pricing page we read on 4 October 2026 describes GST invoicing, GSTIN handling, Indian tax splits, or Indian statutory compliance. monday is a work management platform with separate product lines for CRM, service, and development, and the money side of an Indian business is not what its published plans are about. If you need compliant Indian invoices, that has to live in another system unless a tool you choose covers it.

Is a per-seat model ever the better buy?

Frequently, yes. If a large part of your team needs sophisticated work management but only a small part needs the commercial record, a per-seat model lets you pay depth for the people who need it and nothing for everyone else. It is also the right shape when usage is genuinely seasonal and headcount fluctuates, because seats can be added and removed. The cost of the seat model is the bill you pay for the people who are on the platform but not producing value from it, which is a discipline problem rather than a software problem.
